Future Star Camp

July 12-July 16 2021

Monday through Friday.  9:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Ages: 4 1/2 to 7. Tuition: $225 + Registration

Studio 48 Performing Arts Center invites young students to Future Star Camp, where everyone can reach for the stars in dance, acting, and singing.  Campers will learn creative movement (beginning ballet), and tap, acting through story-telling, and learning to sing by singing our favorite songs.  Campers need to bring ballet slippers, tap shoes, a snack and a water bottle.  



Kids Musical Theater Camp

July 19 - July 23

Monday through Thursday, 9 AM - 11:30 AM:

Friday, 9 AM-12 PM (Lunch 12-1 PM)

Show at 2PM. Tuition: $225 + Registration 

Kids Theater Camp is for young children ages 4.5 to 11 years old.  This one week camp theme is Disney's Frozen. Each camper will explore live theater by learning the art of bringing stories to life on-stage.  This allows children to learn about theater in a creative way by transforming into "Elsa", or another character from the story of Frozen. The Performing Arts activities include story dramatization, improvisation, theater games, singing and movement.  There will be a performance on Friday, June 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM.  

Each camper is responsible for bringing a water bottle and healthy snacks.

Children Playing

Exploring Theater Camp

July 26 - July 30

Monday - Friday 9 AM - 2:30 PM

Ages 9-13  Tuition: $395 + Registration

Exploring Theater Camp will teach students how to write and perform a one-act play.  Students will learn the art of bringing stories to life as they create collaboratively, a     one-act play. Campers will learn character building and character studies, scene descriptions, social awareness values and how to begin and end concept and topic. Exploring theater camp concentrates on the creative process of theater and performance and movie making.  

Through theater games, improvisation and discussion, students will rehearse their original play and perform it for parents at the end of the camp.  The play will also be made into a movie trailor where campers can experience the art of making a movie. 

Campers will need to bring a lunch, a water bottle, two healthy snacks and a notebook and pencil, 


Music Theory, Sight-singing & Ear-training

August 2 - August 6

Monday - Friday. 9 AM-12 noon

Ages: 12-18. Tuition: $225 + Registration

Music Theory, sight-Singing & Ear-Training workshop is designed for the musician and singer who is interested in reading music at first sight.  Sight-Singing not only helps the singer to improve sightreading skills, it will also help pitch accuracy and rythmical skills. Music Theory helps students understand the fundamentals of music.  This will help singers and musicians understand the language of music. This will help in song-writing, composition, voicing, key signatures, rhythm and structure.  

Students who audition for Maine All-State and Districts choirs or instrumental, will greatly benefit from this workshop.  

Students will need to bring staff paper, a water bottle, healthy snacks and pencils.  Learning material will be provided. 


The Audition Challenge

August 9 - August 13

Monday - Friday 9 AM - 2:30 PM

Ages: 10+ Tuition: $450.00 + Registration 


Learn successful techniques and practices for auditioning at your next school play, musical, professional theater, or University Admissions. This workshop will allow students to work personally with our career successful faculty to strengthen skills for a stress-free and effective audition experience. During this week long workshop, students will learn & prepare monologues, song selections, and general dance terms and skills(combinations), which will provide greater confidence and means for success. (1 week)

Work withBroadway Actress and Choreographer: Joyce Chittick

Joyce has recently moved to Maine with husband Rick Faugno, who is Studio 48 PAC Theater Director, dance instructor and vocal coach.  Joyce has been a singer, actress and dancer on Broadway for 20 years,  and has been notably recognized on the Broadway Stage in Cabaret, The Pajama Game, and Anything Goes.  Joyce was also in the original Broadway show of Seussical.  Not only is Joyce a Broadway actress, she is also a choreographer. Her work has been seen from stage to screen to television and even on cruise ships.  Joyce has experince in teaching as well, and has taught at NYU, Penn State and the University of Texas at Austin's Musical Theater Workshop.  She enjoys teaching young people, of different skills and talents, the art of dance and musical theater.  Studio 48 Performing Arts Center is pleased to have a native Mainer and successful Choreographer and Actress working with our students.

Musical Theatre Workshop

August 16 - August 20

Monday - Friday 9 AM - 2:30 PM

Ages 12-18.   Tuition: $395 + Registration


Studio 48 PAC’s Musical Theater workshop will provide education in all aspects of Musical Theater. Students will learn blocking, character development, voice, acting, movement and theater terms. A Performance will include excerpts of an adapted popular musical. (1 week)

Summer Dance Class for the Young

Wednesdays at 5 PM-6 PM

Starting July 21 to August 18.

Ages: 4 1/2 - 7.   Tuition: $75

Join dance instructor Carlyn for an hour of Summer 

Dance in Tap & Hip Hop Jazz.  This class will keep

our young dancers dancing during the summer months. 

Class begins on Wednesday, July 21 @ 5 PM to 6 PM.
