Classes in Gentle Yoga
Yoga Instructor Melanie Willey
Gentle Yoga class will combine a series of breath and full body warm-ups and stretches that will facilitate the release of stress and tension held within the muscles and joints of the body. An additional new foundational posture (standing, seated and/or floor) will be introduced in mostclasses as well as instruction and guidance in proper alignment, basic yogic breathing, philosophy, relaxation and concentration. A minimal use of props are used in this class, modifications are addressed through variations of the postures which will allow each practitioner to experience the movements and postures to a capacity that is right for their body. Those attending are encouraged to wear non-binding comfortable clothes and be prepared to work in bare feet. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket and cushion. Yoga is best practiced on a 3/4 empty stomach. A regular practice of yoga will help support a sense of calmness in body, mind and spirit and help to generate an overall feeling of well-being.
